Privacy Policy
1. Purpose of the application
Z0RYX Backup is a personal infrastructure backup application. It is operated privately by a single operator and is not a public or commercial service. It has no users other than the operator.
2. Google Drive authorization
The application uses Google OAuth to authorize rclone to communicate with the operator’s own Google Drive account. It is not used to access anyone else’s account.
3. OAuth permission
The application currently requests one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This is a limited, per-file permission. It allows the application to work with files it creates or that are specifically opened with it. It does not provide access to browse or read the rest of a Google Drive. Google describes this scope on its own pages, and its wording governs.
4. How data is handled
Restic encrypts backup contents before rclone uploads them to Google Drive. The application is intended to store encrypted infrastructure backup objects only. They are not shared publicly.
5. Credentials
OAuth tokens and repository encryption credentials are kept privately by the operator. They are never published on this website.
6. Who can access backups
Backup repositories are for the authorized operator only. This website does not provide access to backups, snapshots, or restoration, and it does not connect to any private system.
7. Retention and deletion
The operator controls how long backups are kept and when they are deleted. No fixed retention schedule or deletion timeframe is promised here. Authorization can be revoked at any time in the Google Account permissions settings.
8. Third-party services
- Google provides Google Drive storage. Google’s handling of data is described in Google’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Cloudflare serves this static website. Like most web infrastructure providers, it may process technical request data such as IP address and request details, as described in Cloudflare’s own policies.
9. Information collected by this website
This website has no registration, login, contact form, or visitor-tracking code, and it loads no analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts. It does not set cookies of its own.
10. Contact by email
Messages sent to the public contact addresses for Z0RYX are received through Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to a private mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail). Cloudflare and Google process the sender address, message contents, and necessary delivery information to deliver and handle inquiries. The destination mailbox address is not published on this website. The operator may retain messages as needed to respond, without a fixed retention period. Do not send passwords, encryption keys, OAuth tokens, or other sensitive credentials by email.
11. No commercial data sharing
Z0RYX Backup does not operate a commercial user-data sharing or advertising business.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated as the infrastructure evolves. The effective date above will change when it does.
